The bad boy from One Direction is not only known for his devilishly handsome looks, but also his intimate hookups.
Zayn Malik was famously engaged to a member of the world’s biggest girl groups (Perrie from Little Mix), before ditching her and his band for a life in the U.S. He then began having flings (and babies) with American superstars like Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez (because, duh, who wouldn’t want to live the ultimate Hollywood dream?).

They were both young, single and on the rise to stardom. Although there was no actual evidence, and Zayn reassured us in an interview that they were “just good friends”, the two were rumored to have kissed in the contestants’ house.

Zayn set his eyes on the X Factor winner in 2011, and they soon became the ‘power couple’ of the nation. With both Perrie and Zayn excelling in their careers and love life, it seemed that the pair were truly unstoppable.
In April 2013, they sent Directioners and Mixers (or shall we say ‘Zerrie’ fans?) into a frenzy by announcing their engagement, making it seem like the bad boy had finally been tamed. Sadly, this fairy-tale romance didn’t last and the two split in August 2015, soon after he quit One Direction.
We don’t know what officially led to Zayn and Perrie’s split, but the Little Mix singer did reveal in the band’s book, Our World, that Zayn had actually ended the relationship via text message (in which he denied).
“It was horrible, the worst time in my life,” she wrote. “A four-year relationship, two year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that. Even though things in my career were going really well, it was incredibly difficult for me.”

During the Jelena (a.k.a. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez) split, the Mind of Mine singer was dragged into the mix when Justin accused Selena of cheating on him with the former 1D lad. Zayn was quick to shut down the rumors by confirming that he and Selena were only ever friends and nothing more.
Justin’s accusations root back to 2012, when it was rumored that Selena was seeing Zayn, while her BFF Taylor Swift was dating Harry Styles.

This ‘nobody’ took to Instagram to create some havoc in the heartthrob’s life, when she posted a shirtless photo of Zayn in bed, claiming that he’d cheated on his sweetheart, Perrie, just a few months before they got engaged. The power couple put the rumors to bed, however, and remained united after the intense drama.

The vocal singer was reportedly “smitten” with Burberry model, Naleem Gill, just weeks after dumping fiancé Perrie Edwards via text. It was said that Zayn had his eyes on the supermodel when they first met at a recording studio, while he was still engaged to Perrie. This love didn’t last in paradise, though, as the two split due to hectic work schedules.

Zayn and Rita Ora were rumored to have hooked up after being spotted together on a dinner date in the summer of 2015. The controversial star did not confirm or deny any allegations, so we only have this selfie to make judgement on.

Here’s yet another love story that never was… Zayn was also linked to Perrie lookalike, Wallis Day, shortly after his brutal breakup. The two were pictured leaving London Hotspot, Nobu in November 2015, but no further proof was released of a budding romance.

Although he was dating Gigi Hadid at the time, rumors swirled that the ex-One Directioner had a fling with her friend, Taylor Swift. The public were quick to speculate if Zayn and Taylor had underlying love for each other, but both parties confirmed that they just admire each other’s talent.

Although Zayn and Gigi went through a brief breakup in 2018 (after “growing apart”) and in 2019, before we knew it, they were back together again just a year later. This time, Zayn’s relationship with Gigi was the real deal as they’d made their baby announcement. Baby Khai was born in September 2020.
The on-and-off couple of nearly six years, officially called it quit in late 2021 after Zayn was accused of “striking” his mother-in-law Yolanda Hadid (in which he quickly denied).

TikTok user Klarissa Garcia went viral after revealing in her video that Zayn and Selena Gomez were spotted out at dinner together in a New York restaurant.
In the clip, Garcia publicized messages from a friend who works at the restaurant, which wrote, “Tell me how Selena Gomez and Zayn just walked into [restaurant] hand in hand making out and I seated them.”
We’ve yet to see any photos to back up this rumored hook-up, but it’s not hard to believe. Selena Gomez is one of the few people that Zayn follows on Instagram and back in 2013, when asked which 1D member she would kiss, Selena replied, “Zayn”.
By the looks of Zayn Malik’s dating history, it’s clear that he’s been in and out of love. Just when it seemed like he was truly smitten with Gigi Hadid, it all came crashing down.
